BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Turkmenistan is an important area of Tatarstan's foreign trade activity, with which reliable partnership relations are linked, a source in the Department of Foreign Affairs to the President of Tatarstan (Russian region) told Trend.
"Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of contacts with Turkmenistan and we are glad to expand mutually beneficial ties. At the moment, leading Tatarstan enterprises have a number of projects implemented on the territory of Turkmenistan in the engineering, shipbuilding, petrochemical, energy, and medical spheres," the department said.
It was noted that these are such enterprises as KAMAZ PJSC, Tatneft PJSC, Eidos-Medicine LLC, KER-Holding Management Company LLC, Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, KMPO JSC, Kazancompressormash JSC, Kazan Helicopters JSC.
"As part of the development of cooperation in the field of special economic zones (SEZ), a delegation of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan visited Tatarstan on January 15 through 19, 2023. During the meeting, the Turkmen side got acquainted with the experience of the republic and visited Technopolis "Himgrad", Alabuga SEZ, and Innopolis SEZ," the department added.
At the same time, it was stressed that the main document of bilateral cooperation is the Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) and Turkmenistan on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation, signed on June 28, 2008.
