BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Businessmen from Afghanistan and UK purchased urea from Turkmen production during trading on April 18 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the exchange.
Entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased 100,000 tons of urea grade B on the exchange at a price of $181 per ton. The total amount of the transactions was $18.1 million.
At the same time, according to the exchange, on April 3, businessmen from China and UAE purchased 2,000 tons of unpeeled dried licorice roots in the amount of $1 million.
The main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizers per year.
