Turkmenistan expanding transport ties with foreign companies

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The enterprises of the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) concluded new agreements with foreign companies within the framework of the ITC 2023 transport forum held in Ashgabat on May 3 through 4, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, for example, the Turkmenbashi International Seaport signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Turkish Albayrak Group company, a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Indian Anipra Impex Ltd. and the Balkan Shipyard and Ship Repair Plant OJSC signed an agreement with Bureau Veritas Marine Kazakhstan LLC on the provision of services.

The Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping have adopted an addendum to the agreement on licensing services for technical inspection of vessels and paperwork in accordance with the requirements of international agreements.

Furthermore, the forum hosted a solemn presentation of a certificate to the Turkmenbashi seaport for compliance with the requirements of international quality standards, environmental safety, health protection and industrial safety – these are ISO 9001,14001 and 45001 standards. The certificate was issued by the international certification body CERT International.
