BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Turkmenhowayollary Agency (Turkmenistan Airlines) is the leader in terms of production indicators in the transport and communication sector of the country, showing a growth rate of 299.3 percent from January through April of this year in relation to the base value of the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was announced by the Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakiyev at a government meeting.
According to him, during the reporting period for the transport and communication complex, the growth rate for the performance of works and the provision of services amounted to 122.8 percent.
He noted that during the reporting period, the plan in the field of cargo transportation by road, rail, air, and sea transport was fulfilled by 103 percent, and for passenger transportation – by 106.2 percent.
The growth of services rendered by the Turkmenawtoulaglary Agency (Turkmen automobile service) amounted to 121.8 percent, and the Turkmendemiryollary Agency (Turkmenistan Railway) - 103.3 percent.
At the same time, the growth of services rendered by the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmen Communication) to 111.7 percent, and Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) - 109.4 percent, the head of the agency noted.
At the meeting, the results of the government's work in the economic sphere for 4 months of 2023 were summed up, draft documents were considered and priority tasks of the socio-economic development of the country were discussed.
