IMF predicts increase in Turkmenistan's natural gas exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts daily crude oil exports to Turkmenistan in 2023 at 0.6 million barrels per day, and gas exports at 0.81 million barrels per day in oil equivalent, Trend reports with reference to IMF’s Regional Economic Outlook.

According to the IMF, daily crude oil exports for 2024 in Turkmenistan are projected at 0.6 million barrels per day, and gas exports at 0.81 million barrels per day in oil equivalent.

Furthermore, the IMF added that daily crude oil exports in Turkmenistan in 2022, 2021, and 2020 amounted to 0.7 million barrels per day.

At the same time, daily natural gas exports in Turkmenistan in 2022 amounted to 0.76 million barrels per day, 2021 - 0.79 million barrels per day, and 2020 - 0.59 million barrels per day in oil equivalent.

Meanwhile, according to the Turkmen Turkmengaz State Concern, the country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, of which more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
