BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. The State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan held trades in foreign currency last week, the total amount of transactions of which amounted to approximately $12.63 million, Trend reports.
According to the exchange, technical sulfuric acid produced by Turkmenkhimiya State Concern was purchased by entrepreneurs from Türkiye, and polypropylene manufactured by Turkmennebit State Concern by businessmen from Switzerland.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan, the UAE, Türkiye, UK, Kyrgyzstan and others bought terry products in assortment, cotton yarn and fabric for foreign currency.
Turkmen businessmen purchased wheat bran and bentonite powder for the domestic market for a total amount of 278,150 Turkmen manats ($79,617).
A total of 38 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
