ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 20. The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, proposed initiatives to strengthen economic, cultural, and sports ties between Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Trend reports.

According to the official source in Turkmenistan, the President said this at the GCC-Central Asia Summit, which was held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

He stressed the need to strengthen the economic partnership between Central Asia and the Persian Gulf and also suggested creating a platform for cultural and environmental cooperation between the two regions and developing a sports partnership.

The Head of State proposed to create a chamber of commerce between the two regions and hold the first investment forum in Turkmenistan in 2024.

Furthermore, he proposed to hold a medical congress for the countries of Central Asia and the GCC in 2025 in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the GCC-Central Asia summit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.
