ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 1. Turkmenistan and China discussed topical areas of comprehensive partnership and expansion of trade and economic cooperation, Trend reports.
A delegation from the People's Republic of China led by Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qinghai Province Chen Gang, a member of the CPC Central Committee, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, reportedly discussed these issues.
The parties underlined the expansion of their bilateral trade during the meeting, emphasized the enormous potential for cooperation in this area, and expressed interest in further diversifying their cooperation in other key sectors like education, science, and cultural exchanges.
Meredov emphasized that active maintenance of contacts at the level of heads of state, during which a wide range of problems are discussed, is a distinguishing aspect of relations between Turkmenistan and China.
Both parties praised their countries' successful cooperation within the framework of recognized international institutions, particularly the UN.
On several global topics, it has been seen that nations take viewpoints that are similar or identical.
