ADB, Turkmenistan to work on partnership strategy for 2024-2028

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 15. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Turkmenistan are actively working together to design a new partnership strategy between the two nations from 2024 to 2028. According to Trend, potential projects in the industries of finance, health care, transportation, and energy are being taken into consideration as part of this plan, Trend reports.

To date, Turkmenistan has received 13 loans, grants, and technical support from the Asian Development Bank for the public sector, totaling $632.6 million.

Turkmenistan has historically benefited from the ADB's support. The Bank raised its technical assistance for transactions by $225,000 to aid in the development of Turkmenistan-based projects that are eligible for financing in 2022.

The Bank is also actively contemplating a number of projects, such as renovating the Ashgabat-Dushak railroad and enhancing the capabilities of small and medium-sized businesses.

Therefore, Turkmenistan has received $484.71 million in total loan repayments. The capital resources used to pay for these expenses were standard. One $500 million loan is now included in ADB's sovereign portfolio in Turkmenistan.
