ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 23. Turkmenistan and India are actively cooperating in the implementation of major international projects such as the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the development of transport and logistics cooperation within the framework of the Ashgabat Agreement, Trend reports.

According to an official source, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to New Delhi Shalar Geldynazarov spoke at the 'Business Opportunities in the Central Asian Region forum, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India with the support of the Indian Foreign Ministry.

During his speech, the Ambassador drew the attention of Indian businessmen to the advantages of the investment climate in Turkmenistan, the processes of diversification of the country's economy, and national environmental policy, citing as an example the "smart" city of Arkadag, where advanced technologies have been embodied in creating an environmentally friendly and socially inclusive urban environment.

Referring to the agreements reached at the highest level, the diplomat stressed the great potential of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and India in such areas as the oil and gas industry, transport and communications, the agro-industrial complex, chemical and textile industries, and IT technologies.

Meanwhile, this business forum brought together heads of diplomatic missions of Central Asian countries in India, heads of relevant departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives of local firms and companies.
