ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 20. Farms in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan produced about 79,500 tons of meat (in live weight) from January through August this year, Trend reports.
During the reporting period, the region's farms also produced more than 371,100 tons of milk and 140 million eggs, most of which were obtained from private enterprises.
In general, the Lebap region currently contains about 548,100 cattle, 4.31 million poultry, and 5,700 camels.
Currently, Turkmenistan is actively engaged in the advancement of animal husbandry, augmenting the livestock population, producing meat and dairy goods, and reinforcing the feed resources of the sector. The enhancement of indigenous livestock enterprises persists.
Meanwhile, most of the livestock production falls on the private sector of Turkmenistan.
