ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 11. Turkmenistan’s real gross domestic product (GDP) is anticipated to surge to 2.5 percent by 2023, Trend reports, citing the latest World Economic Outlook report issued by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Hence, the anticipated growth rate for 2023 has risen by 0.2 percentage points in comparison to the earlier April prediction (2.3 percent).
At the same time, the IMF forecasts Turkmenistan's GDP growth for 2024 at 2.1 percent, which has remained unchanged since the April review.
Furthermore, according to the IMF, Turkmenistan's real GDP growth in 2022 amounted to 1.6 percent.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in early October, said that from January through September 2023, Turkmenistan's GDP growth increased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
