ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 9. The total value of carbamide sold on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan in December 2023 exceeded $36.4 million, Trend reports.

Turkmenistan sold 163,500 tons of carbamide 'B' grade through its commodity exchange in the reporting month.

Carbamide is widely used in agriculture as a fertilizer, and an increase in its sales indicates the activity and development of the agricultural sector, which may be associated with an increase in agricultural production and demand for fertilizers.

In general, the total amount of transactions on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan in December last year amounted to more than $155.05 million.

Meanwhile, the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants serve as the primary producers of carbamide in Turkmenistan.

Central Asia's largest facility, the Garabogazkarbamid plant, is engineered to produce an annual output of 1.15 million tons of fertilizer.
