BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. EU countries increased imports of mineral products from Turkmenistan 6.2 times over the past year, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
During the reporting period, EU countries imported mineral products totaling about 1.05 billion euros, which is 6.2 times more than imports in 2022, when they amounted to 169.43 million euros.
The largest import of mineral products from Turkmenistan occurred in October, amounting to 194.19 million euros, and the smallest fell in February, amounting to 201,753 euros.
At the same time, EU countries increased their imports of various products from Turkmenistan by three times over the whole of last year compared to 2022 (399.8 million euros), reaching a total of 1.2 billion euros.
Meanwhile, last year the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the EU countries amounted to 1.87 billion euros, which is 87 percent more than in 2022, when it amounted to 1 billion euros.
