ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 5. In the near future, a business for the manufacturing of glycyrrhizic acid is expected to open and put into operation in Turkmenabat's second industrial zone, Trend reports.

According to official statistics, the facility is now being built by the private Turkmen firm Mizemez gadam.

The company will process licorice root and obtain glycyrrhizic acid using technology supplied by the Italian company Adipson Ind. Srl.

At the same time, Italian, Serbian, and Egyptian specialists actively participated in the equipment installation, in addition to local experts.

In addition to the manufacturing shop and administrative premises, the firm comprises buildings for specialists' work and enjoyment, a warehouse for storing raw materials and materials, a dining room, and a sports ground.

Following commissioning, the company will be able to produce 390 tons of glycyrrhizic acid per year, which is a hepatoprotector with immunomodulatory and antiviral properties.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively developing its industrial sector by creating a diversified range of factories across multiple industries.

The building of new chemical facilities, in particular, is one of the nation's primary economic development goals.
