ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 12. The total amount of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia in January this year amounted to $5.2 million, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Georgia, this means a decrease of 5.4 percent compared to the amount of trade turnover in the first month of the previous year, which amounted to $5.5 million.
During this period, Turkmenistan's exports to Georgia reached $4.3 million, which is 14 percent less than in the corresponding period of 2022, when exports were estimated at $5 million.
At the same time, in the first month of this year, Turkmenistan imported goods from Georgia in the amount of $835,900, which is 59.9 percent more than in the same period last year, when imports were estimated at $522,690.
Meanwhile, for the whole of 2023, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia amounted to a total of $100.6 million, which indicates a decrease in trade activity by 46 percent compared to 2022, when it amounted to $186.5 million.
