ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 1. Turkmenistan's Balkan shipyard and ship repair plant and Dutch Royal IHC shipbuilding company have agreed to jointly build dredgers, Trend reports.
According to the Balkan shipyard, this arrangement was struck
during a meeting between the management of the Royal IHC firm and a
representative of the Turkmen shipyard during a working visit to
the Netherlands.
During the discussion, a representative from Balkan Shipyard
informed the company's management about the plant's capacities and
technical capabilities, as well as its experience in ship repair
and a new project for the construction of the first dry cargo
vessels.
The shipyard's initiative to expand bilateral cooperation with the
Royal IHC firm in the sphere of localization and collaborative
production of dredgers on Turkmenistan territory received special
notice.
During the discussion, the Turkmen expressed interest in using
Royal IHC design documents to construct dredgers at the Balkan
plant.
In response, the Dutch company's management affirmed their support for the initiative and expressed readiness to collaborate, with both parties agreeing to develop technical and pricing proposals for the project.
Meanwhile, Royal Inc. is a Dutch company specializing in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of ships and marine systems designed for the extraction, transportation, and processing of underwater resources.
The company operates in various sectors of the marine industry, including the oil and gas industry, mining, deepwater construction, dredging, port infrastructure, and other industries related to marine resources.
