ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 17. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that inflation in Turkmenistan will reach 5 percent this year, Trend reports.

According to the IMF forecast, this figure decreased by 5.5 percentage points compared to the previous October forecast, which was 10.5 percent.

At the same time, the IMF also predicts that inflation in Turkmenistan will increase to 7.9 percent next year.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is making concerted efforts to lower inflation by executing a comprehensive economic stabilization strategy and strengthening the national currency.

As part of this plan, the government is actively developing ways to control the money supply, regulate pricing for essential goods and services, and improve taxation.
