ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 23. Last week, Turkmenistan staged auctions on the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange, and transactions were made for the sale of raw materials worth roughly $35.7 million, Trend reports.
Surprisingly, this is more than 21 percent lower than the
previous reporting period, when the cost of raw materials sold was
$45.3 million.
Entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan
paid foreign currency for polypropylene, liquefied natural gas
(LNG), and base oil produced by Turkmennebit State Concern
enterprises, as well as carbamide and desulfurized diesel fraction
produced by Turkmenhimiya State Concern.
Furthermore, licorice root extract, dried licorice roots and
rhizomes, smooth-dyed and jacquard terry items, cotton fabric and
yarn, purified cotton waste, and cotton fiber were sold to
businesses in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, the UAE, Serbia, and Uzbekistan
for foreign exchange.
Turkmen businesses spent over 7 million Turkmen manat ($2
million) on polypropylene and petroleum road bitumen produced by
the Turkmennebit State Concern, as well as flat glass and handmade
carpets for the home market.
Last week's auctions on Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw
Materials Exchange produced 46 transactions.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange
was formed on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state
regulations governing export-import operations.
