ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 21. Residents of the Free Economic Zones (FEZ) of Belarus increased exports of their goods to Turkmenistan by 2.1 times from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to the official source, Turkmenistan was on the second line in the growth of exports of enterprises of the Belarusian Free Economic Zones, and Iraq took first place, which increased 4.5 times.
Residents of the FEZ of Belarus have increased the volume of supplies of their products to other countries such as Kazakhstan, India, Tajikistan, China, and Türkiye.
Furthermore, in the first quarter of 2024, the volume of product exports from the Free Economic Zone of Belarus reached $2.1 billion, marking a record high for the entire operational period of the FEZ.
The basis of Belarusian exports to Turkmenistan in recent years has been the supply of sugar, tires, insulated wires, medicines, and dairy products.
Meanwhile, more than 10 entities of the commodity distribution network of Belarusian enterprises and organizations operate in Turkmenistan.
The main items of Belarusian imports from Turkmenistan are bed linen and kitchen linen, tableware and household items made of plastic, packaging bags made of textile materials, non-woven materials, and textile clothing.
