ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 22. Turkmenistan has commissioned a new 'Bagtyýarlyk' water treatment plant with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters of water per day in Ashgabat city, Trend reports.

According to the official source, the construction of the structure was carried out in accordance with the relevant decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The water source is an open reservoir with a volume of one million cubic meters, located on the right bank of the Karakum River.

The naturally settled water flows by gravity into the ante-chamber of the first pumping station, where the equipment manufactured by the world-famous KSB company is installed, and then it is fed to the water treatment plant, disinfected, and enters the filtration tank.

Furthermore, the technology used at the facility meets the criteria outlined in the EU documents 'Best Available Technologies' and 'Best Environmental Practices'.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan pays unflagging attention to improving approaches to water resources management and protection, creating additional water reserves, improving the water supply of cities and villages, and increasing the capacity of reservoirs, river capacity, irrigation, and collector networks.

For these purposes, specialized projects are being implemented, and specialized machinery and equipment with the latest modifications are being purchased for the industry.
