Turkmenistan reveals total volume of sales on its commodity exchange

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 27. More than $64 million was traded on the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports.

The exchange's data show that this is 17 percent less than in the previous reporting period, during which the cost of raw materials sold amounted to $77.6 million.

For foreign currency, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Germany, Türkiye, and Afghanistan purchased polypropylene, base oil, aviation and lighting kerosene produced at the technological installations of the Turkmennebit State Concern, as well as carbamide manufactured by the Turkmenhimiya State Concern and hydraulic oil.

Furthermore, business representatives from the UAE and Türkiye purchased cotton yarn and cotton waste for foreign currency.

Furthermore, Turkmen businessmen purchased flat glass for the domestic market for a total of almost 4.2 million Turkmen manat ($1.2 million).

Last week's auctions of Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange yielded 24 transactions.

On July 29, 1994, Turkmenistan established the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. It is the most important body of state regulation for export-import operations.
