ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 31. The Turkmenabat chemical plant, named after Saparmurat Niyazov and located in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, exceeded the plan by 21 percent for the production of phosphorous mineral fertilizers from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
According to official data, the plant produced 55,600 tons of phosphorous mineral fertilizer in the specified period instead of the planned 46,000 tons.
At the same time, during this period, the enterprises produced 51,700 tons of sulfuric acid instead of the planned 50,000 tons, thereby achieving a growth rate of 3 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
In value terms, the total volume of products manufactured by the enterprise during the corresponding period amounted to more than 66 million Turkmen manat, which is equivalent to $18.8 million.
The chemical plant produced 270,500 tons of phosphoric mineral fertilizers and 94,400 tons of sulfuric acid for the entire year 2023, fully fulfilling the plan.
The Turkmenabat chemical plant stands as the sole production facility in Turkmenistan dedicated to manufacturing phosphorus fertilizers essential for enhancing crop yields, including cotton, grain, and various agricultural productions.
