Turkmenistan's agro-industrial sector flourishes amid surging production growth

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 10. Turkmenistan's agricultural-industrial complex experienced a substantial surge in production from January through May this year, Trend reports.

Tangryguly Atakhallyev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, asserted this during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers held on June 7.

According to his statement, during the specified period, the growth rate of production volumes in Turkmenistan's agricultural sector reached 24.1 percent.

Simultaneously, the Deputy Chairman further elaborated that during the first five months of 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan recorded a growth rate of 29.2 percent, while for the Ministry of Environmental Protection, it stood at 0.1 percent.

Atakhallyev stressed that the plan for the development of investments in the specified period was exceeded at a level of 287.8 percent.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has prioritized the advancement of its agro-industrial sector, concentrating on modernizing farming methods, boosting productivity, and ensuring food self-sufficiency.

Significant investments have been allocated to enhance infrastructure, such as irrigation systems and agricultural machinery. By integrating state-of-the-art farming practices and technologies, there has been a noticeable increase in agricultural output.
