ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 22. Farmers of the Lebap region located in the east of Turkmenistan have exceeded the potato harvest plan, Trend reports.
According to official data, this year the farmers of the region sowed 1400 hectares of land for potatoes, from which they collected almost 19,800 tons of products.
When harvesting 14 tons of products from each hectare, farmers in the Lebap region planned to harvest a total of 19,600 tons of potatoes.
The harvested crop is offered to customers at affordable prices in markets and shops, and the rest of it is sent to specialized cold storage facilities owned by the Miwe Agro-Industrial Association.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is working to ensure long-term agricultural development through infrastructure modernization, the introduction of modern technology, and production diversification.
The country is making significant investments in infrastructure, creating new crops, helping small farms, and prioritizing environmental sustainability.
