ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 2. This season, Turkmen farmers planted 130 hectares of land with potatoes in the Halach district of the Lebap region, located in the east of the country, Trend reports.
According to official data, this year the farmers of the district collected 14.3 tons of products from a hectare of cultivated land, which amounted to a total volume of more than 1,850 tons of potatoes, thereby exceeding the plan.
Throughout this season, the entire Lebap region plans to cultivate 1,400 hectares of land, with the goal of producing around 19,600 tons of potatoes.
Farmers utilize irrigation methods, practice inter-row cultivation, and employ a combination of organic and mineral fertilizers to improve crop growth and boost productivity.
