( Turkmenistan.ru ) - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov dismissed interior minister Akmammed Rakhmanov at a meeting with interior ministry officials.
He was dismissed due to "serious shortcomings in work, his inability to head the ministry that he was in charge of and lack of firmness towards his staff and weak staff discipline," the State News Service (TDH) reports.
Deputy interior minister Hojamyrat Annagurbanov has been appointed new interior minister.
