A delegation of the Polish Supreme Court headed by Chairman Stanislaw Zbigniew Dabrowski met with Uzbek Supreme Court Chairman Buritosh Mustafayev on Monday.

The talks discussed the state and prospects for cooperation between the judicial departments of the two countries, expanding and strengthening of relations in this field, as well as exchange of experience..

It was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland is gradually developing in all spheres, including in legal field. Agreements reached during meetings of the two states' presidents are an important legal basis.

The Polish side stressed that the President Islam Karimov's decrees dated 2005 to abolish death penalty and authorizing courts to issue sanctions for arrest were appreciated by the international community.

The guests were acquainted with the initiatives put forward by the president in the concept of further deepening of democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country, particularly in the field of democratization of state power and governance, improving judicial-legal system.
