Romania’s new ambassador delivers credentials to Uzbek FM

Romeo Stanciu has been appointed as the Romanian ambassador to Uzbekistan. He has delivered copies of his credentials today to Uzbek President Islam Karimov, the Foreign Ministry said today.

The sides exchanged the views on bilateral relations during the conversation.

"The mutual interest in intensifying the activity of the Uzbek-Romanian cooperation institutions, great involvement of business communities of both countries in cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects was stressed at the meeting," a
statement said.

In particular, the sides discussed practical measures to strengthen the relations on a constructive and mutually beneficial basis in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Earlier, Romeo Stanciu worked at the Romanian Foreign Ministry and served as Romanian Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine.

So far, the Romanian diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan has been headed by Romanian Charge d'Affaires in Uzbekistan Alin Florentin Barbu.
