Uzbek President Islam Karimov has sent condolences to the President of the United States Barack Obama in connection with a major natural disaster that hit east of the United States and led to many casualties and destruction, the presidential press service said.
As it was reported, Hurricane Sandy sweeping through the east coast of the United States, led to the death of about 100 people. Power cut was observed in New York and other cities, water flooded road tunnels and underground lines, destroyed hundreds of buildings.
Total estimated damage as a result of the hurricane, according to preliminary data, hits $50 billion.
