Uzbekistan, China discuss urgent issues of interaction

The delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, which is on a visit to Tashkent and the leadership of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda Nov.18, said the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Head of External Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Zhou Li.

During the meeting the sides discussed the implementation of agreements reached within the framework the Uzbek-Chinese talks at the highest level in Tashkent and Samarkand in September 2013 and in Beijing in August 2014, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sides noted the important role of the established institutional mechanisms, including the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee and its subcommittees, regular ministerial consultations, contacts at other levels in the progressive development of relations between Uzbekistan and China.

The sides also exchanged views on certain international and regional issues, including the context of new initiatives of PRC (People's Republic of China).

The talks attended by the Ambassador of PRC to Uzbekistan Sun Lizi.

Uzbek-Chinese cooperation covers the entire range of relations and is a friendly, mutually beneficial one. PRC occupies the leading position among the trade partners of Uzbekistan.At the end of 2013, the bilateral trade increased by 55.6 percent - up to $5.224 billion, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Some 482 enterprises with Chinese capital, including 78 enterprises fully owned by the Chinese investment operate in the country, representatives of 81 companies of PRC have been accredited.
