Uzbekinvest National Export-Import Insurance Company, the biggest insurance company of Uzbekistan, has faced premium spikes of 30.8 percent (104 billion Uzbek soums) in 2016 compared to the same period in 2015, the insurance company told Trend.
Premiums for types of compulsory insurance amounted to 11.2 percent of the total volume of premiums received (11.7 billion soums).
Of these types of compulsory insurance, premiums received from vehicle owners’ civil liability insurance amounted to 5.4 billion soums, from employer’s civil liability insurance - 5.9 billion soums, from carrier’s civil liability insurance, which was introduced in Uzbekistan in 2015, - 386.9 million soums.
Payments of insurance claims increased by 25 percent in 2016 - to 15 billion soums.
Of the total volume of payments of insurance claims, 507.7 million soums were received from vehicle owners’ civil liability insurance compared to 470 million soums in 2016 (eight percent increase), 4.5 billion soums – from employer’s civil liability insurance, compared to 2.4 billion soums (1.8 times growth).
This is while payments of claims regarding carrier’s civil liability insurance amounted to 24.8 million soums.
