New industrial zone to appear in Uzbekistan

A new small industrial zone is planned to be created in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in the next two months.

The small industrial zone will be created on the basis of the building and facility of LLC "AOKS Plus Business" located in the Uchtepe district of the capital city.

In accordance with the government resolution "On the establishment of a small industrial zone in the Uchtepe district of the city of Tashkent", these facilities will be completely transferred to the jurisdiction of the Tashkent city administration in the near future.

Three small industrial zones are already operating in Tashkent. This year five more such zones will be created, and in 2018 - two.

Production areas and land plots located on their territory are provided for long-term lease for a period of 10 years. In the future, the term can be extended for another 10 years, subject to the conclusion of agreements on the implementation of projects and timely payment of all taxes and other mandatory payments.

Companies operating in the territory of the zones are exempted from paying taxes and corporate profit tax, as well as a single tax payment for a period of two years.

Overall, the number of small industrial zones operating in Uzbekistan reached 96. Some 1,021 projects with a total cost of 535 billion soums were realized in these territories, while more than 9,600 jobs were created.
