Uzbekistan lowers excise tax rate on cars of own production

Uzbekistan has lowered the excise tax rate on cars produced by General Motors Uzbekistan JSC by 5.8 times, the State Tax Committee of the country told Trend.

The excise tax rate was 29 percent 2017 and 5 percent in 2018, according to the committee.

Excise tax in Uzbekistan is also imposed on alcohol products, vegetable oil, tobacco products, jewelry, silverware, precious metals, oil products, natural and liquefied gas, the committee said.

In particular, the excise tax rate on alcohol products grew by an average of 25 percent, tobacco products – by 2.2 times, jewelry - 25 percent, silverware - 11 percent, natural gas - 25 percent, liquefied gas - 26 percent. The excise tax rate on vegetable oil decreased twice.

Starting from Sept.1, 2017 excise tax on imported meat and processed meat products, poultry fat and pork fat, wheat flour and products used for animal feeding was abolished.
