The Senate of the Parliament of Uzbekistan approved the Law on Ratification of the Paris Agreement on Sept. 28, Uzbek media reported.
Uzbekistan joined the Paris Agreement in April 2017.
According to senators, the agreement will serve as a road map for UN member states, reducing emissions and strengthening resilience to climate change, to which countries are exposed regardless of borders.
The Paris Agreement is a document adopted under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, regulating measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Currently, 170 countries have ratified the treaty, pledging to take measures to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.
