Uzbekistan’s sericulture and karakul sheep breeding committee purchases vehicles

The committee for the development of sericulture and karakul (breed of domestic sheep in Central Asia) breeding purchased new cars, Trend reports with reference to upl.uz.

The committee acquired a Chevrolet Tahoe, two Malibu and Lacetti cars.

Some 795 million soums ($76.730) were spent on the purchase of Tahoe, 324.4 ($31.309) and 311.1 million soums ($30.026) on Malibu, and 115 million soums ($11,099) were spent on the purchase of Lacetti.

The total amount of purchases exceeded 1.5 billion soums ($144,774).

By the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, a committee for the development of sericulture and karakul breeding and the organization of in-depth processing of raw materials with the creation of sericulture and karakul breeding committee was formed on September 2, 2020.

The budget for the maintenance of the committee amounted to 12 billion soums ($1.16 million).

It was decided to create karakul breeding clusters for breeding pedigree small ruminants with the formation of a fodder base, as well as enterprises for slaughtering cattle, processing wool and skins, producing meat and dairy products, semi-finished products and finished products.

Clusters are obliged to efficiently use pastures, prevent their degradation, and breed pedigree small ruminants using scientific and innovative approaches.
