Association of electrotechnical enterprises to increase production in Uzbekistan

Association of electrotechnical enterprises in Uzbekistan plans to increase industry exports to $310 million by the end of this year, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the association.

This information was announced by the President of Uzbekistan at a meeting on accelerating the implementation of investment projects in the electrical and pharmaceutical industries.

In particular, he drew attention to the fact that 55 projects were planned to be implemented in the electrical sector this year. Of these, 26 projects have been implemented.

Currently, the country is importing products that are simple to manufacture and costly to transport, worth $500 million.

In this regard, the Association was recommended to draw up a list of such products and establish production in the industrial zones of Tashkent city and the Khorezm region.

“This way, it is planned to increase industry exports to $310 million by the end of this year and reach $370 million next year,” the association said.

In addition, the prospects of using global online trading platforms and participation in international tenders were noted and the task was set to organize a laboratory and a certification center for the implementation of international standards in 2021.

The volume of industrial production for 10M2020 amounted to nine billion soums ($868 million). The growth rate of industrial production compared to the corresponding period of 2019 (in comparable prices) with the forecasting parameter of 13 percent amounted to 18.6 percent.

Export of products for 10M2020 amounted to $238.2 million, increasing by 1.3 times compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
