Largest volume of metallurgical products falls on Uzbekistan’s Navoi region

Some 1, 974 enterprises of the metallurgical industry, operated in Uzbekistan over ten months this year, producing goods worth 63.3 trillion soums ($6.07 billion), Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The physical volume index compared to the same period in 2019 increased by to 4.3 percent.

In particular, the production of copper wire increased by 2.1 percent, aluminum wire – by 4.8 percent, and the production of welded oil and gas pipelines of circular cross-section with a diameter not exceeding 406.4 mm increased by 24.9 percent.

The largest share in the total volume of products produced by metallurgical enterprises falls on the Navoi region 56.5 percent (30 metallurgical enterprises), the Tashkent region 35.8 percent (131 enterprises) and the city of Tashkent 5.8 percent (281 enterprises).

The products of the metallurgical industry were exported from January through October in the amount of $1,001 million, which accounts for 7.5 percent of the total export of the country.

On December 4, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the opening ceremony of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, a new industrial enterprise that will produce 500,000 tons of cold-rolled steel products annually.
