Most financial violations in Uzbekistan fall on Kashkadarya region

The control measures of the Kashkadarya region for the targeted use of funds from local budgets revealed the largest number of financial violations for 26.1 billion soums ($2.5 million), Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan presented information on control measures for the targeted use of budget funds in 2020, carried out by the Department of State Financial Control.

According to the information, the Department of State Financial Control and its territorial divisions in 2020 carried out 4,729 (in 2019 - 8,074) control measures to comply with budget discipline and the targeted use of budget funds.

As a result, there were cases of violations of budget discipline, shortage of funds and inventory, as well as unjustified expenses in the amount of 246 billion soums ($23.5 million), of which 168.8 billion soums ($16 million) were restored to the budget.

It was reported that, violations in 523 out of 723 control measures, carried out in the system of the Ministry of Health, were revealed in the amount of 40 billion soums ($3.8 million), which is 2.9 times more than in 2019.

At the same time, violations 106 of 124 control measures, carried out in the system of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, were revealed in the amount of 9.4 billion ($898,923) soums, which is 8.5 times more than in 2019.

In addition, cases of violation of budget discipline were revealed in control activities carried out in city administrations (3.5 billion soums - $335 million), management of improvement of administrations (7.8 billion soums - $746 million), Service of a single customer engineering companies under administrations (8.4 billion soums - $803 million).

Also, cases of financial violations in the amount of 175.3 billion soums ($16.8 million) were revealed at control measures for the targeted use of funds from local budgets. The largest number of financial violations, amounting to 26.1 billion soums ($2.5 million), was revealed in the Kashkadarya region while the least number of cases of financial violations were revealed in Karakalpakstan Republic, amounting to 8.1 billion soums ($775 million).

The Department of State Financial Control that, as part of the control measures carried out in budgetary institutions in 2020, cases of theft of cash in the amount of 54.5 billion soums ($5.2 million) were revealed (non-posting of cash received from the bank to the treasury of the organization, payroll to non-listed employees and others), which is 7.5 times more than last year.

In addition, 48 managers and other officials of organizations receiving funds from the budget were fined for violation of budget legislation. Also, materials on violations in the amount of 239.5 billion soums ($23 million), revealed in the framework of 3,033 control measures, were sent to law enforcement agencies.
