The largest share in the total volume of products produced by metallurgical of the metallurgical industry in Uzbekistan falls on the Navoi region, amounting to 55.9 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the share of metallurgical products produced by enterprises in the Tashkent region and Tashkent city amounted to 36 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 1,023 enterprises of the metallurgical industry operating in Uzbekistan in 2020 produced goods worth 79.2 trillion soums ($7.5 billion).
The physical volume index of the metallurgical industry operating in Uzbekistan compared to the same period in 2019 increased by 6.3 percent.
In addition, it is noted that products of the metallurgical industry were exported in the amount of $1.2 billion, which amounted to 8.2 percent of the total export of Uzbekistan in 2020.
Earlier it was reported that the production of copper wire in Uzbekistan as of December 2020 increased by 1.2 percent, while production of the aluminum wire increased by 80.8 percent.
