Investment projects worth almost $3 billion will be implemented in the Andijan and Tashkent regions of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.
According to the information, 616 projects worth $1.4 billion will be implemented in the Andijan region. Of these, 258 projects will be implemented in the industry sector, 185 - in the service sector, and 173 - in the agriculture sector.
As a result, it is expected that production capacities for almost 10 trillion soums ($950 million) will be created in the Andijan region, creating opportunities for replacing imports in the amount of $95 million and export products for $265 million. In addition, it is planned to create 61,000 new jobs.
Thus, Tetratex LLC is organizing a textile complex in the Balykchy district. The total cost of the project amounts to 126 million euros. The project will be implemented in four stages in 2021-2022. The enterprise will launch a full cycle of knitwear production. Within the first stage, the completion of which is scheduled for the end of this year, 2,500 jobs will be created. Upon completion of all stages, this figure will reach 10,000.
Also, 53 new investment projects worth $782 million have been formed for the Andijan region.
As for the Tashkent region, this year, 355 projects worth $1.6 billion will be launched in this region. Of these, 198 projects are related to the industry, 81 projects - in the service sector, 76 projects - in agriculture.
It is expected to create production facilities with a volume of about 35 billion soums ($3.3 billion), and 13,000 people will be provided with jobs. Also, it is planned to establish the production of import-substituting products for $48 million and export-oriented goods for $42 million.
Furthermore, 187 new investment projects are planned to be implemented in the region in 2021.
It is reported that Metal product LLC is setting up the production of metal products in the Akhangaran district within the framework of a $25 million project. The annual capacity of the future enterprise will amount to 60,000 tons. The enterprise, the commissioning of which is scheduled for May this year, will provide jobs for 150 people. Among the projects important for the domestic market are plans for the production of bicycles in the Angren free economic zone and the production of food products in the Kibray district.
