Uzbekistan takes additional measures to support livestock industries

Uzbekistan is introducing additional measures to support livestock industries in order to provide stable food supplies, expand the fodder base and increase the production of competitive products, Trend reports referring to Norma information and legal portal.

According to the information, starting from March 1, 2021, business entities in the fields of animal husbandry, poultry farming, fish farming, and rabbit farming in Uzbekistan are allowed to re-use the guarantee of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund for new loans, subject to the repayment of old ones.

Also, benefits in accordance with paragraph two of the presidential decree on measures for the further development and support of the livestock industry of March 18, 2019, were expanded to all enterprises of the industry.

In addition, from January 1, 2021, to January 1, 2021, the tax rate for income tax, property tax, land tax, and tax for the use of water resources for the main activity of breeding entities has been reduced to 50 percent.

Moreover, when business entities import certain types of goods (in the annex to the decree), the VAT payment period is extended by 180 days, and the negative difference in the paid tax is covered in 20 days.

Also, within the additional measures to support livestock industries subsidies are envisaged for livestock farms in the amount of $0.19 (for each kilogram of live weight and $0.019 for each liter of milk), for poultry farms - in the amount of $0.0048 (for each egg and $0.076 for each kilogram of meat) and for fish farms - in the amount of $0.29 (for each kilogram of salmon, trout and sturgeon, and $0.095 for each kilogram of other types of fish).

It was also noted that until April 1, 2021, funds in the amount of three billion soums ($286,218) will also be allocated from the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Ministers to equip a laboratory for analyzing the structure of feed for livestock, birds, fish, and diagnostics of bird diseases with modern equipment.
