Spanish CHAMSA and ministries of Uzbekistan agreed to implement a pilot project on 100 hectares (50 hectares - drip irrigation and 50 hectares - sprinkler irrigation) on the territory of the farm of the Kashkadarya region, Trend reports referring to the Dunyo news agency.
It is reported that online negotiations were held between representatives of the Spanish group of companies CHAMSA, WES agricultural consortium, and the interested ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, including the ministries of water resources, agriculture, Uzeltekhsanoat Association, Agrobank JSCB, as well as the administration of the Kashkadarya region.
During the meeting, the Spanish side informed that the management of the CHAMSA group of companies is currently considering the issue of opening a dealer center in the Kashkadarya region to organize the supply of equipment in this area, as well as to further establish its products in the region.
In this context, the issue of implementing a pilot project with the use of all the company's developments in the field of introducing water-saving irrigation systems is being studied to visually demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed modern technologies to potential farmers in the country.
In addition, the Spanish side offered to consider the issue of localization, taking into account the use of local raw materials and the possibility of producing the necessary parts on the basis of the existing capacities of the enterprises of the members of the Uzeltekhsanoat Association.
In turn, the Uzbek side expressed interest in cooperation with Spanish companies for the implementation of joint projects in this area, based on the many years of experience of Spain and the similarity of climatic and water resource conditions with Uzbekistan.
Thus, as a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the implementation of a pilot project on 100 hectares (50 hectares - drip irrigation and 50 hectares - sprinkler irrigation) on the territory of the farm of the Kashkadarya region with the further development of a mechanism for the allocation of credit funds from the Agrobank JSCB to the country's farmers to purchase equipment.
