The State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development of Uzbekistan has lifted temporary restrictions on the transit and import of poultry and livestock products from Kazakhstan since March 19, 2021, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, Uzbekistan’s Committee has lifted the previously introduced temporary restrictions on the import and transit of live birds, including ornamental birds through the territory of the country.
Also, restrictions on the import of hatching eggs, down and feathers, poultry meat, eggs and other types of poultry products, as well as used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and cutting birds from Kazakhstan were lifted.
At the same time, temporary restrictions on the import and transit of animals, including companion animals, wild, circus and zoo animals have been lifted. The restrictions on the import of raw meat and meat products, milk and dairy products not subjected to heat treatment, genetic material, trophies, intestinal raw materials, skins and leather, used equipment for keeping and slaughtering animals from Shymkent and Akmola regions have been lifted as well.
It is reported that restrictions on the import and transit of livestock from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan were introduced on September 25 last year. The reason was the discovery of Anthrax in these regions, later the information was denied. Then the committee of veterinary control and supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan sent an appeal to Uzbekistan with a request to cancel the imposed restrictions, officially notifying about a safe epidemiological situation.
