Largest increase in customs payments noted in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region

The volume of customs payments in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region in the period from April 1 to April 30, 2021 increased by 2.5 times, Trend reports referring to the CERR (Center for Economic Research and Reforms).

To assess the economic situation in Uzbekistan in the crisis conditions caused by the spread of the coronavirus disease around the world, CERR specialists conduct monthly monitoring of the state of business activity at the regional and district levels.

Analysis of business activity in the context of the regions of Uzbekistan is monthly calculated by CERR based on monitoring in all regions of the country, according to the data of the State Customs Committee, State Tax Committee, Central Bank and Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX).

The monitoring results showed that the volume of tax revenues of Uzbekistan in the period in April this year rose by 2.1 percent over the same period last month. At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Navoi (by 17.2 percent), Bukhara (by 12.6 percent), Kashkadarya (by 11.8 percent), Andijan (by 10.4 percent), Khorezm (by 8, 2 percent), Fergana (6.7 percent) regions, Tashkent city (12.6 percent) and Karakalpakstan Republic (8.7 percent).

In addition, receipts from customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 16.9 percent. The largest growth in the volume of receipts was noted in Jizzakh (2.5 times), Syrdarya (31.6 percent), Navoi (24.4 percent) regions, Tashkent city (39.8 percent) and Karakalpakstan Republic (by 28.4 percent).

At the same time, the volume of loans issued by commercial banks over the past month increased by 6.3 percent. The largest growth in the volume of issued loans was observed in Navoi (2.3 times), Syrdarya (47.4 percent), Samarkand (31.6 percent), Kashkadarya (23.2 percent), Fergana (20.2 percent), Khorezm (10.3 percent) regions and Karakalpakstan Republic (4.2 times).

It is also reported that 9,150 new business entities were created in April 2021, the largest number of which were registered in Kashkadarya (1,258), Samarkand (756), Tashkent (735) regions and in Tashkent (1,684).

Moreover, the volume of transactions at the UZEX for the analyzed period increased by 4.1 percent.

A significant increase in exchange activity was observed in Navoi (by 31.8 percent), Syrdarya (by 27.3 percent), Jizzakh (by 22.2 percent), Samarkand (by 17.5 percent) regions, in Tashkent (by 23.3 percent) and in Karakalpakstan Republic (by 28.7 percent).
