Uzbekistan and Turkey considered issues of increasing trade and the scale of cooperation, the adoption of the agreement on preferential trade and the creation of a joint industrial zone, Trend reports referring to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

The mentioned issues were considered by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vice-President of Turkey Fuat Oktay during discussion of further expanding practical interaction and promoting new cooperation projects of leading enterprises and companies of the two countries.

Mirziyoyev highly appreciated the current level of Uzbek-Turkish relations of friendship, trust and strategic partnership achieved through regular and fruitful dialogue at the highest level.

In turn, Vice President Fuat Oktay expressed gratitude for the great support for the activities of Turkish companies and investors in our country.

The meeting highlighted the dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation and the measures taken to overcome the consequences of the pandemic.

In particular, since the beginning of the year, exchanges and contacts at different levels have intensified, the volumes of mutual trade and the number of joint investment projects have been steadily growing.

The parties also expressed satisfaction with the results of the events held by the joint Intergovernmental Commission and the business program with the participation of business representatives.

In addition, the importance of comprehensive preparation of the agenda for the second meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council in Tashkent was emphasized. These include the issues of increasing trade and the scale of cooperation, the adoption of the agreement on preferential trade, the creation of a joint industrial zone, the promotion of programs in the field of digitalization, education and other sectors of the economy with the active involvement of advanced Turkish experience, knowledge and technology.
