The share of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS countries, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 2.5 percent and their share in foreign trade turnover in 6M2021 amounted to 37 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan's 6M2021 foreign trade turnover (FTT) reached $18.01 billion, which, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 2.15 billion (an increase of 13.6 percent).
It is reported that exports during the reporting period amounted to $7.05 billion (an increase of 12.3 percent compared to 6M2020), and imports - $10.95 billion (14.3 percent). As a result, the foreign trade balance amounted to a passive balance of $3.9 billion.
It was noted that the largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded in May 2021 and was noted at the level of $4.25 billion ($2.07 billion in 6M2020).
According to the committee, in June 2021, the volume of Uzbekistan’s FTT amounted to $3.44 billion and, compared to the same period in 2020, decreased by 15.1 percent. Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in 2Q2021 amounted to $10.91 billion, which is 53.5 percent more than the previous quarterly indicator.
Today Uzbekistan carries out trade relations with 171 countries. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (18.2 percent), Russia (17.0 percent), Kazakhstan (10.4 percent), Turkey (8.7 percent), South Korea (4.6 percent), Kyrgyzstan (2.4 percent) and Afghanistan (2.0 percent).
In the structure of Uzbekistan’s FTT, a significant share was noted in Tashkent, which amounted to 38.6 percent, or $6.94 billion, and the smallest share was recorded in the Surkhandarya region amounting to 1.1 percent, or $202.7 billion.
Also, committee reports that the largest volume of FTT with the CIS countries was recorded with the Russia (45.8 percent), Kazakhstan (28.0 percent) and Kyrgyzstan (6.4 percent).
Uzbekistan’s FTT with the EAEU countries amounted to $5.55 billion, of which the volume of exports amounted to $770.2 million, while the volume of imports - $3.78 billion.
