The annual growth in the volume of transportation of agricultural products within the framework of the Agroexpress project between Russia and Uzbekistan until 2025 is expected at 20 percent, Russian Export Center (REC) said, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek media.

According to the information, the volume of transportation of agricultural products within the framework of the Agroexpress project from Uzbekistan to Russia at the initial stage will be about 100,000 tons per year

REC noted that shippers from Uzbekistan are interested in ensuring maximum return load along the railway route.

“The practical implementation of the project requires sufficient warehouse infrastructure to ensure the receipt and dispatch of agricultural products, transported mainly in refrigerated or insulated containers without breaking the required temperature regime. Infrastructure facilities should be equipped with shunting routes necessary for receiving and dispatching container trains and zones of customs and phytosanitary control with the placement of appropriate posts of authorized state services,” the REC said.

The Russian company RZD Logistics added that the most promising goods for export from the Russian Federation to the Central Asian region are meat and dairy products, fat and oil products, confectionery, legumes, and industrial goods. Fresh vegetables and fruits, dried fruits, light industry goods will go from Uzbekistan to Russia.
