Central Asia Motors company plans to manufacture first electric cars in Uzbekistan, sometime in December of 2021, in the country's Fergana region, Trend reports citing Uzbek Media.
The company' project on creating electric cars in Fergana region is estimated at $50 million, of which $40 is foreign direct investment.
Central Asia Motors plans to produce up to 10,000 electric cars yearly.
The production of electric vehicles and necessary spare parts will be established in stages and will be completed in 2022.
After launching at full capacity, over 350 new jobs will open at the car-manufacturing plant.
