The volume of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan from January through November 2021 amounted to 95.8 trillion soums ($8.8 billion), increasing by 16.3 times in comparison to the indicator of the beginning of the year (5.8 trillion soums or $542.9 million), Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
Most of the construction work was carried out in Tashkent city in eleven months of 2021 (23.5 trillion soums or $2.1 billion), followed by Tashkent region (7.9 trillion soums or $733.2 million). Bukhara region settled for third place (6.3 trillion soums or $587.6 million).
The amount of construction work in 2020 accounted for 88.1 trillion soums ($8.1 billion), which is 23.8 percent more compared to 2019 (71.1 trillion soums or $6.6 billion).
Over the past 10 years, the amount of construction work carried out in the country has increased dramatically. For comparison, the volume of construction work in 2010 amounted to 8.2 trillion soums ($766.2 million), which is 79.8 trillion less than in 2020.
